Sexually Transmitted Infections are on the up, and it is those aged 16 to 24 who are catching them most. 1 in 10 young people has Chlamydia, while half of the world’s HIV positive population is aged under 25.

This observational documentary follows a group of young people over a 48-hour period. It takes them from the excitement of the club to the cold reality of the morning after – and a visit to the STI clinic. Both embarrassing and eye-opening, the programme follows them as they face the moment of truth: have they got an STI or not?
Sex, Lice and Videotape discovers what it is like to be young, to be having sex, and to be paying the price. It asks the question: Why in an increasingly sexually aware age, when sex is more talked about than ever before, are STIs on the increase among teenagers and twenty somethings? Embedded within the programme is a message about safe sex, information about what STIs are, how they are caught, what the symptoms and treatments are, and how to avoid passing one on.
